Resident profile The targeted residents for this housing complex will be non-elderly singles on fixed or limited incomes currently on the Department of Social Developments waiting lists. Successful applicants will be those who show not only the greatest need but also how well they will fit within the community to be created. The apartment units will form part of the Department of Social Development’s Affordable Rental Housing Program which guarantees the tenant pays no more than 30% of their income on rent. With co-operative principles in mind, the residents will have a participation role in the operation of their building. From co-ordinating tenant events to planning operational spending, residents of Tannery Court-Saint John will be contributing to the success of their housing community. The residents who currently reside at our existing Tannery Court housing complexes in Moncton, NB and Fredericton, NB have confirmed our confidence in the concept of a safe and affordable housing co-operative for low income non-elderly singles by working together and forming a community and not just accommodations. Parking Facts Tannery Court-Saint John will have fourteen parking spaces for the 51 units. Our experience with other Tannery Courts shows that this will be more than adequate.
